Meet Meg Young

Most of us in today's world have been through some level of trauma or are feeling some level of anxiety. I am no different. I started as a licensed social worker because I wanted to help people through trauma based on my own experiences. My very first job was working for child protective services. I eventually settled into my niche in private practice helping first responders including 911 dispatch and tow truck drivers, medical providers including nurses, doctors, veterinarians, and other therapists, and court and corrections officers.

I got trained, then certified, in EMDR and have almost completed my training to become an EMDR consultant. EMDR was a game changer in my therapy practice because it got deep into the emotions that are stored in the body.

Throughout my life I have loved being active. I was a gymnast as a kid and a runner through college. Currently I enjoy yoga, pilates, walking, swimming, and biking.

I found my way to yoga awhile back. It was difficult for me. I had a hard time getting into poses due to lack of strength, flexibility, and connection with myself. Furthermore, I had a hard time releasing and just being in the flow with my breath. Shavasana, the relaxation and integration at the end was near impossible to relax into. But over time, it became more of a passion and easier. I became a registered yoga instructor because it helped me along my own journey.

I still love my private practice as a licensed therapist, and incorporate yoga into it, but now offer coaching as well, helping people release the stored trauma and anxiety in their bodies through mind/body work, especially through yoga. My niche as a coach is helping other therapists release anxiety and imposter syndrome as they open their own private practice, but I love sharing my knowledge and work with anyone who is open to releasing trauma and anxiety through mind/body work. Yoga is just one of the modalities I use in my coaching practice, but it is an integral part.
